We’re in the final week of minor league baseball in 2024.
It’s been two weeks since the Dunedin Blue Jays last played, while the Vancouver Canadians and New Hampshire Fisher Cats wrapped up their season over the weekend. The only Blue Jays’ affiliate still playing is the Buffalo Bisons, who take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the final week of action.
Early in the top of the first, New York Yankees prospect Ben Rice hit his ninth home run of the season in Triple-A to give the opposition a 2-0 lead. In the top of the third, Jorbit Vivas hit a solo home run to extend the lead to 3-0.
However, the Bisons had some fight left in them, as Alan Roden hit his third triple in Triple-A to drive in Jonatan Clase to make it 3-1. In the bottom of the fifth, Orelvis Martinez hit a two-run home run to tie the game at three, where it would stand until extra-innings.
A sac fly gave the Yankees’ affiliate a 4-3 lead in the top of the 11th, but Clase hit a single that scored Damiano Palmegiani to knot the game up once again. The game was lost in the top of the 12th for the Bisons, as Taylor Trammell tripled to score three runs, including former Blue Jay Cam Eden. Oscar González’s three-run home run made it 10-4.
The Bisons scored thanks to Josh Kasevich’s organization-leading 28th double, but a 10-5 loss saw the Bisons’ record drop to 30-39 in the second-half.

Diving into the stats…

Without question, Tuesday was Jonatan Clase’s best game in the Blue Jays’ organization. He hit his 10th with the Bisons, but also hit three singles for a four-hit performance. Rafael Lantigua hit a double and two hits, same with Josh Kasevich
Although he may not lead the organization in home runs this season, Orelvis Martinez hit his 17th home run of the season, two back of the farm lead of 19. Moreover, Alan Roden hit his third triple with the Bisons and his fourth of the season.
Adam Macko made his Triple-A debut, finishing with a line of 3 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K and two home runs given up. This was his final start of the season barring any fall/winter ball action, but expect him to provide a depth option for the Blue Jays in 2025.
Eric Pardinho pitched another scoreless outing, his ninth straight appearance without giving up a run. In this game, he pitched two innings with two hits allowed and three strikeouts. Since August 17, he’s pitched 10.2 innings with a 35.9 K% and a 2.6 BB% for a 1.23 FIP. It isn’t even his best stretch of the season.
Brett de Geus pitched an inning with two hits and a strikeout, Mason Fluharty walked and struck out a batter in an inning of work, and Dillon Tate pitched a clean inning. Andrew Bash struck out two in two innings of work, but Hayden Juenger allowed six runs (four earned) in an inning and a third of work as he was tagged with the loss. Braydon Fisher also allowed an earned run in his two thirds of an inning, but struck out two.
The Bisons return to action on Wednesday, with Easton Lucas starting the game.
