And then there was just one more game.
The Buffalo Bisons lost 8-5 on Saturday to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. With the loss, the Bisons are now on a three-game losing streak with a second-half record of 31-42.
It wasn’t a great first inning for the Bisons, as the RailRiders scored five runs. They had home runs from Jorbit Vivas and Ben Rice, along with an Oscar González double before the Bisons even had an at-bat. However, the Bisons did get back into it, as they scored three runs in the bottom of the first, thanks to a single, an error, and a walk.
The Bisons got within one in the bottom of the second, as Josh Kasevich hit his third home run for Buffalo and his sixth of the season. He’s been great since joining the Bisons. Sadly, Oswald Peraza’s 11th home run gave the RailRiders a 7-4 lead, scoring the game-winning run.
For the second time in the game, a Bisons run was scored on a bases loaded walk, as Riley Tirotta took a six-pitch walk to make it 7-5. In the top of the ninth, Peraza hit his second home run of the game, giving us the final score of 8-5.
Diving into the stats…
Of the eight hits that the Bisons had, Orelvis Martinez hit three of them, all singles. Will Robertson also had a two-hit game, hitting his 23rd double of the season. Moreover, Josh Kasevich hit his sixth home run of the year, while Damiano Palmegiani and Michael Turconi each hit a single. The latter also made a terrific catch in left field.

Luis Quiñones allowed two earned runs, two walks, and two strikeouts in three innings pitched. Hayden Juenger pitched a clean inning and a third, while Yerry Rodríguez struck out two in an inning and two thirds.
Connor Cooke pitched a clean inning and a third, and Brandon Eisert allowed a solo home run in his inning of work. His season ERA sits at 3.86.
The Bisons’ final game of the season is Sunday. Jake Bloss will start for Buffalo.
