You know the drill by now.
The upper-minor teams, the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons and the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, both lost their games. However, the lower-minor teams, the High-A Vancouver Canadians and the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, each won their game.
Let’s dig into that in the latest Minor League Report!

Buffalo blew a late lead

On Sunday, the Buffalo Bisons fell 7-6 to the Omaha Storm Chasers in the series finale, moving their season record to 21-30. Heading into the top of the eighth, the Bisons had a 6-5 lead, but blew it.
The most notable hit of the game for the Bisons came from Will Robertson, who hit his organization-leading 19th home run of the season, a grand slam. Alan Roden had a three-single performance, while Nathan Lukes had two singles. Other players with a hit were Damiano Palmegiani and Josh Kasevich.
James Kaprielian made the start for the Bisons, giving up four earned runs, four walks, and four hits in four innings pitched. Unfortunately, he only finished with three strikeouts. Andrew Bash was the first out of the bullpen, allowing two walks in two innings of work.
Mason Fluharty was tagged with the blown save, as he gave up an earned run with a strikeout in an inning and a third pitched. Hayden Juenger picked up his third loss of the season, striking out two batters in two thirds of an inning, but giving up the decisive run. Luis Frías pitched an inning with two strikeouts.

A big inning sunk New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats fell 5-1 to the Hartford Yard Goats on Sunday, bringing their second-half record to 18-31, 14.5 games behind the division leaders. All of Hartford’s runs came in the fifth inning.
Devonte Brown hit his ninth home run of the season, while Andrés Sosa hit his seventh double of the season. Yohendrick Piñango hit two singles, while Ryan McCarty and Rainer Nuñez each hit a single.
Abdiel Mendoza started the game for the Fisher Cats, giving up five unearned runs in four and one third innings to bring his season ERA to 3.47. Adrián Hernández pitched a clean two thirds of an inning, while CJ Van Eyk and Dahian Santos each pitched two innings of scoreless baseball.

Vancouver won a big game

The Vancouver Canadians have the best chance of making the postseason of any of the four “A” affiliate teams for the Jays. On Sunday, they defeated the Everett AquaSox 6-1 to bring their second-half record to 33-21. They are tied with Spokane (the first-half winners) for the second-half lead, but have a seven-game lead over the Hillsboro Hops, which comes into play if Spokane also wins the second-half.
Jace Bohrofen’s hit streak ended on Friday, but he hit his 12th home run of the season on Sunday. Brennan Orf, Peyton Williams, Nick Goodwin, and Je’Von Ward all hit a double, while Ward and Bryce Arnold had multi-hit games, the latter having three hits.
Pat Gallagher made the start on Sunday, pitching five scoreless innings while allowing one hit and walk while striking out seven. Irv Carter struck out a batter in two innings of work, while J.J. Sanchez struck out three and gave up an unearned run in his inning. Geison Urbaez pitched a clean inning.

Dunedin won a high scoring affair

Vancouver is more than likely going to their third consecutive Northwest League Final, but the Dunedin Blue Jays also have an outside chance of making the postseason. On Sunday, they defeated the Clearwater Threshers 12-7, moving their second-half record to 28-24. They are five games back of the division leaders. It’s unlikely, but still possible.
The big story from this game was Eddie Micheletti Jr.’s first career professional home run, a grand slam. He also had a three-hit performance in the game. Jaden Rudd hit his first home run of the season. Other players with an extra-base hit were Manuel Beltre (who also had a multi-hit performance with three walks) and Brock Tibbitts. Carter Cunningham had a single, while J.R. Freethy had a single and three walks.
Colby Holcombe made the start, giving up an earned run and striking out two in three innings of work. Fellow Colby and 2024 draftee, Colby Martin gave up two earned runs and three walks in two thirds of an inning. Jay Schueler struck out two in his inning of work, while Bennett Flynn struck out two in his inning and a third. Yondrei Rojas allowed two earned runs in an inning of work and Juanmi Vasquez allowed two earned runs (and four strikeouts) in two innings of work.
