The Toronto Blue Jays’ upper-minor teams are starting to get back on track.
On Sunday, two of the four “A” level affiliates picked up a win, while the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays ended their losing streak on Monday.
Let’s take a look at that in the latest Minor League Report!

Buffalo blew out Syracuse

On Sunday, the Buffalo Bisons defeated the Syracuse Mets 9-3 to move their second-half record to 11-16. Although they are tied for the second-worst record in the International League, the Bisons were able to take five of six from the Mets’ affiliate.
Will Robertson hit his 15th home run of the season, moving into sole possession for second in the organization, only one behind Orelvis Martinez.
Luis De Los Santos also hit a home run, his third of the season, and walked twice. Phil Clarke hit his fifth double with the Bisons, as well as a single for one of two multi-hit games for the Bisons. Alan Roden had the other multi-hit game, hitting two singles. Other players with a hit were Damiano Palmegiani and the rehabbing Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
Aaron Sanchez made the start for the Bisons, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 1 H, 0 ER ( 1 R), 7 BB, 1 K to bring his season ERA to 8.31. Mike Mayers was the first out of the bullpen, striking out three in an inning and two thirds pitched. Mason Fluharty gave up two earned runs in an inning and a third worked, while Eric Pardinho pitched a scoreless inning with a strikeout, a hit, and a walk.

New Hampshire gets back in the win column

Like the Buffalo Bisons, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats haven’t played well in the second-half. However, they picked up a 6-1 win over the Reading Fightin Phils on Sunday to give them a 7-18 record, the worst in the Eastern League.
Cade Doughty had his best game of the season, hitting his first home run as a Fisher Cats, as well as his second double with the team. He was one of three players with a multi-hit game, as Gabriel Martinez hit a double and a single, while Alex De Jesus hit two singles and walked twice. Rainer Nuñez and Josh Kasevich had the other two hits.
CJ Van Eyk’s streak of 6+ innings pitched hit three games on Sunday, as he finished with a line of 6.1 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K to bring his season ERA to 6.25. Adrián Hernández was the first out of the pen, pitching two thirds of an inning with a walk. Dahian Santos finished the game, pitching two innings with three walks and two strikeouts.

Vancouver lost again

The Vancouver Canadians’ great start has all but been erased, as they fell 2-1 to the Hillsboro Hops, bringing their second-half record to 18-12. They’re four games back from the division-leading Spokane.
Peyton Williams hit his sixth double of the season with the Canadians, while Jackson Hornung hit his 13th of the season. Jace Bohrofen had a two-hit performance, while Nick Goodwin and Brennan Orf each hit a single. Williams and Jeffrey Wehler walked twice each.
Carson Pierce had a great start, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K to bring his High-A ERA to 2.85. Chay Yeager walked and struck out a batter in his inning of work, while Alex Amalfi gave up an earned run, two walks, and struck out two in his inning of work. Aaron Munson picked up the loss, giving up an earned run in two thirds of an inning. Johnathan Lavallee pitched a third of an inning.

Dunedin doubled up in loss

Unfortunately for the Dunedin Blue Jays, their recent stretch of games has nearly taken them out of the playoff race. They lost 6-3 to the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels on Sunday to bring their second-half record to 14-14.
Dunedin’s star player, Arjun Nimmala hit his ninth home run of the season. He’s been nothing short of terrific since the start of June. On top of the home run, he hit a single and was one of three players with a multi-hit game, as Victor Arias and Edward Duran each had two singles. Manuel Beltre and Drew Jemison had the other two hits for the D-Jays.
Gage Stanifer had another rough start, giving up five earned runs and three walks in two innings and a third. Luis Torres struck out two in two innings and two thirds, though. Recently promoted Franly Urena gave up an earned run in two innings of work. The rehabbing Geison Urbaez struck out two in two innings of work.

DSL Jays snapped their losing streak

The Dominican Summer League Blue Jays snapped their mini two-game losing streak on Monday, defeating the DSL Giants Orange 9-6 to bring their season record to 22-16.
There were a whole lot of hits from the DSL Jays, with seven of their 15 hits being doubles. Randy Soto hit two doubles, Junior Arias hit his first double and also had a three-hit performance, while Franklin Rojas, Rafael Flores, Dariel Ramon, and Juarlin Soto each had a double. Flores had a multi-hit game, as did Angel Guzmán.
All 10 players that appeared in the game had a hit, as Pascual Archila, Yorman Licourt, and Aldo Gaxiola each had a single.
Pitching was a mixed bag for the DSL Jays. Starter Eduar Gonzalez finished with a line of 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K to move his season ERA to 2.70. Andersson Barvosa had a solid outing from the bullpen, striking out four in two innings of work.
Carlos Abad pitched an inning, giving up two walks and four runs, none of which were earned. Geremy Barroso also pitched an inning, giving up an earned run to bring his season ERA to 7.27.
