The prospect we’ll look at in this article is one of a handful of relievers that rank in this top 50 list.
This is Blue Jays Nation’s annual mid-season prospect list, where we’ll take a look at the 50 best prospects in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. I’ll look at the player’s stats, what other publications have to say, as well as my own observations of the players.
Let’s get to know Pat Gallagher, our 47th-best Blue Jays’ prospect. If you missed the 48th-best prospect, you can read about Chad Dallas here.

Getting to know Pat Gallagher

Position: Relief pitcher
Throws: Right
Born: June 30, 2000
Acquired: 11th round, 2022 draft
Previous ranking: Unranked
Gallahger was selected with the 338th overall pick by the Blue Jays in the 2022 draft from the University of Connecticut. He started his professional career the following season, starting 11 of the 14 games he appeared in, authoring a 3.13 ERA and 3.80 FIP in 63.1 innings pitched. Gallagher split the 2023 season between the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays and High-A Vancouver Canadians, striking out 29.4% of batters and walking just 7.1% of batters.
The right-handed pitcher spent the entirety of the 2024 season with the Canadians, where he finished the year with a 4.15 ERA and 3.81 FIP in 91 innings pitched. Gallagher’s strikeout rate dipped to 21.3%, while his BB% increased to 8%.
In 2025, Gallagher moved to the bullpen and started his year with the Canadians. Through 39.2 innings in relief, he had a 1.13 ERA and 2.44 FIP, with a 29.3 K% and a 10.8 BB%. After his promotion to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Gallagher had a 3.09 ERA and 3.08 FIP in 23.1 innings pitched, with a 26.5 K% and 6.9 BB%.
Although Gallagher has had a relatively high strikeout rate throughout his career, he doesn’t have flamethrower stuff. His fastball sits in the high-80s and low-90s. He has a five-pitch mix with good command.
If Gallagher can end the season well, one has to imagine that a start in Triple-A next season is the next course of action. And if he does well there, he could be one of many relievers with the potential to be called up to the Blue Jays in 2026.
