The Toronto Blue Jays continue to add pitching depth to the minor league system.
Following the addition of Blake Purnell earlier this month, the Blue Jays are also adding right-hander Bradley Wilson on a minor league deal. He will join the Jays in Single-A Dunedin.
Wilson joins the Blue Jays after spending the 2025 season with Florence Y’alls in the Frontier League.
As a part of the Y’alls squad, Wilson posted a 5.12 ERA and a 1.533 WHIP through 45 2/3 innings. Across 15 outings, he made six starts and finished the year with an 11.0 H/9, 2.8 BB/9, and a 5.9 K/9 with 30 strikeouts.
Before heading to Independent ball, Wilson spent three seasons with East Carolina before making the transfer to Appalachian State, where he spent the next three years and finished out the 2025 season as a graduate student.
With ECU, Wilson made three appearances in 2020 before COVID shut down the season before redshirting for the 2021 campaign and sitting on the sidelines. He would return to the mound in 2022, pitching to a 7.04 ERA through seven relief appearances. The right-hander was teammates with current Jays top prospect Trey Yesavage and fellow prospect Carter Cunningham for the 2022 campaign.
Wilson would transfer to Appalachian State for the 2023 season, appearing in 16 games (14 starts) but struggling to a 10.42 ERA with 71 hits and 61 earned runs allowed through 52 2/3 innings. He would follow this with a 9.00 ERA through 15 outings in 2024.
In his final season with the Mountaineers, Wilson was moved to the bullpen and found better results. He appeared in a team high 24 games and finished the campaign with a career high 68 1/3 innings. The North Carolina product surrendered 33 earned runs and 24 walks to the tune of a 4.35 ERA and a 1.361 WHIP before graduating and moving on to play for the Y’alls.
While his stats are not eye-popping compared to some of the other names fans might hear in the upcoming draft, Wilson has some strong underlying metrics that help him stick out. He was breaking the 100 MPH mark in 2024 when he was still with App State.
Wilson has not appeared in a game for the Y’alls this season.
