Riley Tirotta has continued to build off his impressive 2024 season.

<h2>Getting to know Riley Tirotta…</h2>
Position: Infielder/outfielder
Bats: Right
Born: August 21, 1998
Acquired: 12th round, 2021 MLB Draft

The Blue Jays selected Tirotta out of the University of Dayton in the 12th round of the 2021 draft. Standing at 6’2, 195 lbs, Tirotta made his professional debut that same season, slashing .305/.429/.389 with a home run in 119 plate appearances with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays.
Most of the 2022 season was spent with the High-A Vancouver Canadians, where the utility infielder slashed .219/.314/.368 with six home runs in 283 plate appearances. While he had a high walk rate of 11.7%, Tirotta’s strikeout rate jumped to 32.2%.
Tirotta began the 2023 season with the Canadians, slashing .303/.411/.539 with three home runs in 107 plate appearances for a 158 wRC+, earning a promotion to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats. There, he slashed .213/.327/.373 with eight home runs in 269 plate appearances for a 96 wRC+, striking out 28.6% of the time while walking at a 13.8% clip.
The 2024 season was Tirotta’s breakout season. After hitting a home run in a rehab assignment with the D-Jays, Tirotta returned to the Fisher Cats, where he tore it up, slashing .286/.438/.464 two home runs in 73 plate appearances. He promptly earned a promotion to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, slashing .240/.360/.4256 with 12 more home runs in 342 plate appearances. For the season, Tirotta had a 16.2 K% and 27.3 BB%.
Tirotta has had a good season with the Bisons. In 415 plate appearances, the 27-year-old is slashing .283/.373/.44 with 12 home runs and 20 doubles for a wRC+ above 120. The utility infielder’s K% remains high at 28.9%, but he can draw walks and hit for power. 
On top of that, Tirotta has played first base, second base, shortstop, third base, left field, and right field in his career, mainly playing first base, third base, and right field in 2025. With pop and a good eye at the plate, along with defensive versatility, Tirotta is an intriguing prospect <a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/news/looking-toronto-blue-jays-prospects-rule-5-eligible">who’ll be Rule 5 draft eligible this winter</a>. He&#8217;s almost aged out of being a prospect, but he deserves a shot in the big leagues.
