MLB The Show is always fun to boot up, as the developers at San Diego Studio consistently pay attention to player performance and trends throughout the season.
Diamond Dynasty, the baseball equivalent of Ultimate Team, remains one of the game’s most popular modes. The highlight is collecting a wide variety of player cards, ranging from Hall of Fame legends to today’s stars.
From a Blue Jays perspective, the developers have created some excellent Diamond-exclusive cards to earn, including a 93-overall Kevin Gausman card commemorating his 2,000th career strikeout, a 96-overall Max Scherzer card celebrating the future Hall of Famer’s 3,500th career strikeout, and, most recently, a 96-overall George Springer card recognizing his 300th career home run.
Live Series cards are always interesting because player ratings constantly rise and fall based on real-life performance. As the regular season progresses, on-field production directly impacts each player’s overall rating. Without diving too deeply into the ratings formula, let’s look at the five highest-rated Blue Jays Live Series cards in Diamond Dynasty. (Note: This only includes Live Series cards, not special program cards such as Milestone cards.)

1. Diamond: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (85 Overall)

The Blue Jays’ lone Diamond Live Series player is, unsurprisingly, the club’s $500 million man, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Even though Guerrero’s numbers haven’t been quite what fans have come to expect this season, it would be difficult to justify dropping him below Diamond status. He’s one of the game’s most complete players, both at the plate and in the field.
While his real-life power numbers have dipped somewhat, his card still reflects his status as the face of the franchise. Unless he’s enduring an extended slump, Guerrero will likely remain Toronto’s premier Diamond Live Series player.
His card also features third base as a secondary position, although that may not be ideal given his 55 Fielding rating, which is around average for players using Live Series cards. Guerrero also has an 84-overall World Baseball Classic card from Team Dominican Republic and a 93-overall Mural card that was released just a few weeks ago.

2. Gold: Ernie Clement (83 Overall)

Ernie Clement earning Gold status is more than deserved. For years, Clement was essentially locked in as a Bronze player before eventually moving up to Silver. He even began this year’s game as a 79-overall Silver.
Fast forward to today, and his production at the plate has firmly established him as one of Toronto’s most reliable contributors, earning him a promotion to Gold in the latest roster update.
Clement is hitting .292 this season, ranking second among Blue Jays hitters, while leading the club in both hits (85) and doubles (20). After receiving Gold Glove consideration last season while serving primarily as a platoon player, it’s great to see him receive some well-earned recognition in MLB The Show.
His versatility also adds value, as he can play shortstop, first base, and third base, making him an excellent depth option for newer Diamond Dynasty players.

3. Gold: Kevin Gausman (83 Overall)

Consistency has defined Kevin Gausman’s tenure with the Blue Jays, both in real life and in MLB The Show. Gausman has long been one of Toronto’s highest-rated pitchers, improving from an 80 overall at launch to an 83 as the season has progressed.
While players can unlock a much stronger 93-overall Diamond card by completing his Showdown program, his Live Series card remains a solid option for any starting rotation.
Gausman’s Blue Jays career has cemented his reputation as the club’s ace from 2022 through 2025, posting 13.0 WAR and a 3.54 ERA during that span. In-game, he remains Toronto’s highest-rated starting pitcher and boasts the best stamina rating among Blue Jays pitchers, making him a dependable option capable of pitching deep into games.

4. Gold: Alejandro Kirk (83 Overall)

Despite missing a significant portion of the season because of injury, it’s impossible to overlook Alejandro Kirk’s importance to the Blue Jays.
In addition to his 83-overall Live Series card—which has already been boosted to an 85 overall in live roster updates—Kirk also has an 87-overall World Baseball Classic card for Team Mexico and a 92-overall Mural card.
Kirk won’t win many foot races, but he more than makes up for it defensively. His 99 Fielding rating is the highest possible in the game, making him one of the premier defensive catchers in Diamond Dynasty.
While his lack of speed makes him somewhat of a high-risk, high-reward option offensively, his elite defense is invaluable. His 94 Blocking rating and 76 Arm Accuracy give players the tools needed to shut down opposing running games.

5. Gold: Dylan Cease (82 Overall)

“The Soul Man” currently sits as an 82-overall Gold after beginning the season as a 78-overall Silver. His lower launch rating largely reflected the disappointing season he had in San Diego before joining Toronto.
Since then, Cease has been one of the best pitchers in baseball and appears well on his way to Diamond status by the All-Star break. Entering July, he ranks third in Major League Baseball in strikeouts while posting a stellar 2.71 ERA, making him the obvious candidate to join Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as Toronto’s next Diamond Live Series player.
Like several players on this list, Cease also has a special Diamond Dynasty card, an 89-overall New Threads card that highlights players with new teams in 2026.
Considering strikeout leaders Jacob Misiorowski and Christopher Sánchez are already Diamond players in the mode, Cease seems destined to join them if he continues pitching at his current level.
