The Toronto Blue Jays face a much tougher test this weekend.
After clobbering the Colorado Rockies in a record-setting performance, the Blue Jays start a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Chavez Ravine.
Like the Blue Jays, the Dodgers lead their division, as they enter Friday’s game with a 66-49 record, two games ahead of the San Diego Padres in the National League West. That said, the Dodgers have played some middling baseball in their past 10, as they are 5-5. Moreover, they are 30-33 against teams with a record above .500.
Each team will start a future Hall of Famer on the mound. Clayton Kershaw starts for the Dodgers, while Max Scherzer gets the ball for the Blue Jays. Over his past two games, Scherzer has struck out a third of the batters he’s faced while giving up four earned runs. Hopefully, he can build on his recent success.
With the lefty on the mound for the Dodgers, Davis Schneider will lead off for the Blue Jays. Ernie Clement bats second, while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hits third and Bo Bichette hits cleanup. Alejandro Kirk is back in the five spot, while left-handed batter Addison Barger hits sixth.
Ty France had a terrific game on Wednesday, going 4-4 with three doubles and two hit by pitches, and he’s back in the lineup batting seventh. Another lefty, Daulton Varsho, bats eighth, while Myles Straw bats ninth.
Let’s set up Friday night’s game against the reigning World Series champions!
