In the lower minors, Eddie Micheletti II had a strong breakout season.
This is Blue Jays Nation’s bi-annual prospect ranking, where we’ll look at the top 35 prospects in the system in the month of February. As always, I’ll look at the player’s stats, what other publications have to say, as well as my own observations of the players.
The 2025 season was Micheletti II’s first full season in professional baseball, and he has the markings of someone who could raise up both the prospect rankings and minor leagues with another good season.
Getting to know Eddie Micheletti II…
Position: Outfield
Bats: Left
Born: December 29th, 2001
Acquired: Eighth-round, 2024 draft
Previous ranking: 34
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Micheletti II played three seasons with George Washington and his senior season with Virginia Tech. After slashing .311/.464/.599 with 12 home runs in 240 plate appearances with Virginia Tech, the Jays came calling, drafting the outfielder with their eighth round pick.
A few weeks after the draft, the Jays sent Micheletti II to the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, where he slashed .292/.422/.458 with two home runs in 90 plate appearances. Additionally, he drew 13 walks (14.3 BB%) and struck out 14 times (15.6%).
Micheletti II’s first real test was in 2025 with the High-A Vancouver Canadians. In his age 23 season, the Delaware native slashed .228/.375/.418 with 14 home runs in 464 plate appearances. While the batting average wasn’t high, Micheletti II drew more walks (78) than he struck out (70), which is always a good indication of a batter’s eye.
Those 14 home runs were tied for sixth in the Blue Jays’ system, behind Yohendrick Piñango, Carter Cunningham, Charles McAdoo, RJ Schreck, and Sean Keys. That’s good company.
Positionally, Micheletti II plays both corner outfield spots, mainly playing right field in 2025. Over 658.2 innings there, he committed five errors while picking up seven assists, adding another assist in left field.
He has a strong arm, with power and a strong eye at the plate, but also has a fringe hit tool and fringe speed. The Jays have an influx of left-handed outfielders on the rise, and Micheletti II could be one to keep an eye on as he enters the upper minors.
