Nolan Perry is quickly becoming one of the best pitching prospects in the Toronto Blue Jays organization.
On Wednesday evening, the 22-year-old right-handed pitcher made his third start with the High-A Vancouver Canadians. His first two outings were great, striking out eight over five one-run games in his debut, then striking out 10, and walking three over five scoreless innings in his second start.
Somehow, Perry’s third outing was even better. Over five innings of work, Perry allowed just one hit and a walk, all while striking out 10 to bring his High-A ERA to 0.60. With 28 strikeouts over his first 15 innings, Perry now has a 51 K%, as well as a 9.1 BB% since joining the C’s.
Selected in the 12th round of the 2022 draft out of high school, Perry had a good 2024 season in Single-A, authoring a 2.93 ERA and 4.25 FIP in 46 innings pitched. But towards the end of the season, he underwent Tommy John surgery and missed all of 2025.
The New Mexico product looks like an entirely different pitcher to begin the 2026 season. In 21 innings with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, Perry had a 1.71 ERA and 2.51 FIP in 21 innings pitched, with a 41 K% and 7.7 BB%. Overall, Perry now has a 1.25 ERA in 36 innings pitched over eight outings.
What a start it has been for the righty.

Other notes…

The Canadians ended up winning that game 7-5, with Perry getting the decision. It was a great game for Dub Gleed, Alexis Hernandez, and Manuel Beltre. Gleed hit his third home run of the season, Hernandez had a two home run game, and Beltre was 3-5 with a run driven in.
Coming into Wednesday’s game against the Hartford Yard Goats, the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats hadn’t hit a grand slam in 999 days, dating back to Miguel Hiraldo’s on August 25th, 2023. Well, Jay Harry snapped that drought in what was an eight-run inning in the bottom of the eight.
Acquired in the Trevor Richards deal back before the 2024 trade deadline, Harry now has three home runs this season. He also had a four-hit game with three singles. Patrick Winkel went deep, Arjun Nimmala hit his third Double-A double, and 20-year-old David Guzman, who was called up to give the Fisher Cats an extra body, also hit a double. Adrian Pinto had a three-walk game.
The early game on Wednesday saw the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons fall 10-5 to the Syracuse Mets. Will Simoneit had a great game, hitting his ninth double and second home run of the season, the only two extra-base hits the Bisons had. Chad Dallas made the start, giving up five earned runs in three innings of work to bring his season ERA to 4.50.
Lastly, the D-Jays fell 6-4 to the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels to drop their season record to 15-25. No home runs were hit in this game by the Blue Jays’ Single-A team, but Edward Duran, Austin Smith, JoJo Parker, and Jake Cook all hit doubles in this game. Aldo Gaxiola, Parker, Raimundo De Los Santos, and Duran had two-hit performances.
