The Toronto Blue Jays play Game 1 of the World Series on Friday evening.
Thanks to a strong regular season where they finished with the third-best record in all of Major League Baseball, the only Canadian team will have home-field advantage against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Game 1 is on Friday at 8:00 PM ET, and Game 2 is at the same time the following day. After the first two games, the series will shift to Los Angeles for Games 3, 4, and potentially 5. Well, if you can’t make it to the ballpark for Games 1 or 2, you can attend the watch party for Games 3 and 4 at Rogers Centre.
Rogers Centre will be home to the watch party for the first two games in Los Angeles, which are on Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 PM ET. Tickets cost $15, with net proceeds going towards Jays Care Foundation.
The two games will be played on the video board with the Sportsnet broadcast. Moreover, there’ll be free popcorn, with gates opening at 7:00 PM ET on both days. Tickets for the event go on sale Friday at 10:00 AM ET.
It’s unclear if there’ll be a watch party for Game 5, which is set to take place at 8:00 PM ET on Wednesday if necessary. Afterwards, the series will shift back to Toronto for Games 6 and 7 on Friday and Saturday, again, if necessary.
It’s not quite the same as being at the ballpark and watching the game in person, but being surrounded by 50,000 other Blue Jays fans in a similar atmosphere will still be an incredible experience.
Hopefully, the Blue Jays can have a strong start to the World Series, as the games in Los Angeles are going to be tough. This season, the Dodgers had a 52-29 record at Dodger Stadium, a top-five home record in Major League Baseball. Of course, the Jays had the second-best record at home, finishing with a 54-27 record at Rogers Centre.
Ideally, the Jays win both Games 1 and 2, and find a way to win a game in L.A. That’d put them in a strong position to win the World Series in Toronto.
