Another pitcher is set for his Major League Baseball debut with the Toronto Blue Jays
Prior to Thursday’s series finale against the Atlanta Braves, the Blue Jays announced they selected Chad Dallas to the active roster from Triple-A Buffalo, and announced that he will be active for tonight’s contest. In turn, Hayden Juenger was optioned and Tanner Andrews was DFA’d.
Dallas brings an ability to provide some much-needed length behind tonight’s opener Mason Fluharty, which could help save a bullpen that has been severely over-worked through the opening 62 games of the regular season.
Through 10 games (eight starts) with the Bisons this season, Dallas is 0-3 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 36 innings pitched. The 25-year-old has struck out 38 batters over his 36 frames and held opposing teams to a .255 average against.
On Wednesday, Patrick Corbin only went five innings, with the Blue Jays were forced to use three relievers in the 7-3 loss, Dallas joined the Blue Jays prior to Wednesday’s contest but remained on the taxi squad, but will be active on Thursday’s series finale. In Dallas’ most recent outing on May 29, he tossed four innings, and reached 71 pitches, making a similar workload likely if he is called upon Thursday.
The right-hander was originally selected by the Blue Jays in the fourth round during the 2021 MLB Draft out of the University of Tennessee. Across 70 career minor league outings (68 starts) spanning four levels, Dallas owns a career 12-18 record, 4.56 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.  He missed all of 2025 due to Tommy John surgery.
Dallas took right-hander Hayden Juenger’s spot on the 26-man roster. Juenger returns to the Bisons after appearing in two games with the Blue Jays.
The 25-year-old made his MLB debut on May 31 during a 9-5 loss against the Baltimore Orioles, and turned in a pitching line of 1.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, in what was a shaky first outing.
Juenger was more in control during Wednesday night’s 7-3 loss against the Braves. The righty worked a clean bottom of the eighth inning, retiring Austin Riley, Mike Yastrzemski, and Ha-Seong Kim in order to record his first shutout inning in his big-league career. Juenger returns to the Bisons with a 13.50 ERA and 2.00 WHIP with the Blue Jays’ and will re-join the Bisons’ bullpen.
In 17 games (two starts) with the Bisons this season, Juenger is 1-2 with a 3.15 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 20 innings pitched. The right-hander has gone 3-for-3 in save opportunities, and has struck out 23 across his 20 frames.
To clear a spot for Dallas on the 40-man roster, right-hander Tanner Andrews was designated for assignment. Andrews made his MLB debut on May 25, at the age of 30, with the Blue Jays this season after seven full seasons in the minor leagues.
Both of Andrews’ appearances came against the Miami Marlins during their three-game series spanning May 25-27. Andrews pitched on back-to-back days, throwing three shutout frames, and recording a strikeout of Heriberto Hernández before being optioned back to Buffalo on May 27.
In 17 games with the Bisons this season, Andrews went 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 1.29 WHIP over 21 innings pitched. Andrews was originally signed by the Blue Jays to a minor league contract on November 26, 2025, and was invited to spring training on as a non-roster player on February 7, 2026.
