The Toronto Blue Jays could be getting Vladimir Guerrero Jr. back at the earliest possible date.
After working out at Tropicana Field on Tuesday and Wednesday, Guerrero batted third and occupied the designated hitter spot in High-A with the Dunedin Blue Jays on Thursday.
Originally injured after taking George Lombard Jr.’s knee to the head during the Blue Jays’ 3-1 victory over the New York Yankees, Guerrero was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list the following morning after experiencing symptoms.
Guerrero took three at-bats on Thursday during Dunedin’s 7-4 win over the Clearwater Threshers.
In his first at-bat against Threshers left-hander Yordanis Guerra, Guerrero got ahead in the count 3-1 before driving a 79.9 MPH slider to left field for an RBI double. The ball left Guerrero’s bat at 98.8 MPH and looked like a vintage Guerrero swing.
Facing Guerra once again in the top of the second inning, Guerrero got ahead 3-1 in the count and then took a 90.3 MPH fastball for ball four. The free pass loaded the bases with two out but Owen Carapellotti grounded out to third to end the frame.
For his final at-bat of the evening, Guerrero stepped up in the top of the fourth against right-hander Jacob Pruitt. Guerrero engaged in a six-pitch battle with Pruitt before drawing his second walk of the contest. Upon reaching first base, Ryan Franden pinch-ran for Guerrero to end what is likely his lone rehab game.
Through 115 games this season, Guerrero is batting .263 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs. The 27-year-old has reached base at a .337 clip and has the potential to be an X-factor in the fate of the Blue Jays’ 2026 season.  Guerrero is eligible to come off the IL on Saturday.
