The Toronto Blue Jays will send out a reliable road starter, Tanner Roark, as they begin the last stop of what has been a seemingly endless road trip against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park on Friday night.

Righthanders Matt Shoemaker (0-1, 5.91, 5.06 SO/9) and Zack Godley (0-1, 6.14, 9.82 SO/9) are listed as the Blue Jays’ and Red Sox’s scheduled Saturday starters. Shoemaker will be trying for a bounce-back start after a rough outing against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday that marked the eighth time in his last 11 starts on the road that the total finished OVER. Godley, an ex-Blue Jay, also had a poor outcome in his last outing, which was his first start for Boston.
Neither team has named a starting pitcher for Sunday’s series finale. The Blue Jays’ flexibility relates to needing to replace righthander Trent Thornton (elbow inflammation), who has been placed on the 10-day injured list.
The Blue Jays have a travel day Monday before finally setting up next week at their temporary home, Sahlen Field in Buffalo, for a two-game series against the Miami Marlins and a three-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays.
