Coming off of a 1-5 west coast road trip, the Blue Jays are home on Tuesday to begin the first two-game leg of a split series with the Atlanta Braves. The Blue Jays are 5-5 in their last 10 games as a home underdog on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com with the total having finished UNDER in seven of those games. They are also 1-8 in their last nine interleague games at home. The Braves are 7-3 in their last 10 games as an away favorite, with the total finishing over SEVEN times with one push.

Toronto’s last 10 home games when they were underdogs have had an average total of 9.0 runs, with five of those games finishing with 5.0 or fewer runs. There has been an average total of 12.8 in Atlanta’s last 10 games as an away favorite.
The probable pitchers list the ever-popular TBD for Toronto, which has come to be code for the Blue Jays using an opener, quite possibly right-hander Wilmer Font (3-3, 4.48 ERA, 9.6 strikeouts per nine innings). If Font gets the call, it’s worth noting that 14 of the last 15 games that he has started have finished UNDER. Atlanta will be starting its young right-hander, Mike Soroka (10-2, 2.41 ERA, 7.1 SO/9). The Braves are 12-4 in Soroka’s last 16 away starts, with the total finishing UNDER nine times at online sports betting sites. Soroka, a Calgary native, is pitching in Toronto for the second time in his young career.
Rookie right-hander Jacob Waguespack (4-1, 3.63 ERA, 6.9 SO/9) will start for the Blue Jays on five days’ rest in Wednesday’s game. The total has gone UNDER in six of his seven starts this season. It will be the third time that Waguespack has had the extra day to prepare for a start and he has a 1.46 ERA in the first two. The Blue Jays have an off-day Thursday prior to a three-game home series against the Houston Astros, then visit Atlanta for two more games.
