The Toronto Blue Jays welcome back left-hander Ryan Borucki, who had a strong UNDER trend as a rookie a year ago, as they begin a homestand against two teams in the thick of the American League wild-card race.
The Blue Jays are the +155 home underdog while the Cleveland Indians are a -175 away favorite with a 9.0-run total on the MLB odds for Monday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This is the eighth time this season the Blue Jays have been a moneyline underdog of +150 or more, and they are 4-3 in those previous seven games with the total finishing UNDER in four of the seven games.

The total has also gone UNDER in 13 of the Blue Jays’ last 18 home games against the Indians, according to the OddsShark MLB Database.
Playing in the AL Central gives the Indians plenty of chances to be a big road favorite, though, and they are 11-4 in their last 15 games as an away underdog, with the total going OVER nine times.
Borucki, who missed the first four months of the season due to left elbow soreness, contributed to the total going UNDER in six out of his seven home starts during the 2018 season. Cleveland will start Mike Clevinger (3-2, 3.57 ERA, 14.8 strikeouts per nine innings), who has also dealt with injuries this season but has come on strongly in his last three starts, allowing just two earned runs across 16 innings. The total has gone UNDER in 11 of Clevinger’s last 18 away starts at online sports betting sites.
Aaron Sanchez (3-14, 6.26 ERA, 7.3 SO/9), who has been charged with the loss in 10 consecutive starts, pitches for the Blue Jays on Tuesday. The total has gone UNDER in four of his last seven starts when the Blue Jays were the underdog. Cleveland counters with Trevor Bauer (9-7, 3.67 ERA, 10.6 SO/9), who has led the Indians to a 7-3 record in his last 10 away starts.
Marcus Stroman (6-10, 3.06 ERA, 7.1 SO/9) is scheduled to start for the Blue Jays on Wednesday, opposite Cleveland right-hander Shane Bieber (9-3, 3.69 ERA, 11.3 SO/9). The total has gone OVER in five of Stroman’s last six home starts, but he has a 3.15 ERA in 40 career innings against the Indians. The total has gone UNDER in seven of Bieber’s nine away starts this season, and he has a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 career innings against the Blue Jays.
Toronto has an off-day on Thursday prior to hosting the Tampa Bay Rays for three games.
