The Toronto Blue Jays badly need a win.
The Texas Rangers rolled into Toronto and have taken care of business thus far. They jumped the Blue Jays in the standings and took the season series between the two teams by winning on both Monday and Tuesday.
Yusei Kikuchi will take the mound for the Blue Jays while the Rangers send out Jordan Montgomery in a lefty-on-lefty matchup.
This is the first time that the Rangers have seen the Yusei Kikuchi Revenge Tour, as he most recently pitched against Texas in May of 2021. Montgomery allowed three runs over five innings against the Blue Jays back during their season-opening series when he was with the St. Louis Cardinals. Since being traded from St. Louis to Texas, Montgomery owns a 4.20 ERA across seven starts.
