And then there were two.
A brutal 2024 campaign for the Blue Jays is nearing its end, as the team opens a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox Monday night. It marks their second to last of the season, with the organization looking ahead to an important offseason.
Chris Bassitt will take the mound for the Jays, opposite Tanner Houck and a Red Sox team sitting four games back of a Wild Card spot. Toronto has a chance to play spoiler, essentially ending their season, despite there being very little chance at them making it: 0.3 percent, according to both FanGraphs and Baseball-Reference.
The Blue Jays will close out their series this weekend with a three-game series against the Marlins, while the Red Sox will do so against the Rays.
