The Giants are apparently interested in Pillar

According to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports, the San Fransisco Giants are interested in trading for Kevin Pillar.
The Giants have recently released centerfielder Cameron Maybin after a rough spring, so they are still searching for some help in the outfield and Pillar might just be that.
The 30-year-old has two more years of control and has recently settled for a one-year, $5.8-million contract in his second year of arbitration eligibility.
Almost the pure definition of an “everyday centerfielder”, Pillar has been with the Jays since he was a 32nd-round draft pick back in 2011. Playing a total of 690 games for the club and sporting a career OPS of .696, he just seems like the type of player that will be in Toronto forever at this moment.
The return would probably not be significant, but it would probably have to be enough for this current front office to give up one of the unlikely faces of the franchise. Especially with recent news of outfielder Dalton Pompey out with his third concussion, Pillar’s presence seems just that more valuable.
This would add to the list of recent departures of cemented Jays. Key members to the Jays’ recent success – Martin, Tulowitski, Donaldson, etc. – have now been sent out to greener pastures and Pillar might just be another member of the 2015 and 2016 playoff runs to leave the club.
