Bo Bichette has a right calf fascia strain, John Schneider says. #BlueJays are considering it day-to-day for now. A player will likely join them in Arizona just in case.

The Toronto Blue Jays may have won last night against the San Francisco Giants but the win came at the cost of a few injuries to some everyday players.
The first to leave the game was Daulton Varsho, who was involved in an awkward play at first base on a ground ball in the second inning and was later replaced by Davis Schneider, with the Blue Jays stating that Varsho was removed with a left knee contusion. The injury does not appear to be serious but the Jays outfielder did not start today’s finale against the Giants, likely waiting to see if things will improve before the team takes the field against Arizona tomorrow.
Also leaving yesterday’s game was shortstop Bo Bichette, with the Blue Jays confirming that he was taken out of the game with right calf soreness. Bichette had an MRI completed last night and was diagnosed with a right calf fascia sprain, which the Jays are considering day to day at this point as well with the All-Star break on the horizon. There is a chance that Bichette could land on the IL, especially since the Jays’ shortstop missed some time in June with a right calf injury as well, although the two injuries appear to not be related.
Outside of the players, even third base coach Carlos Febles couldn’t be spared, with the veteran coach leaving his post after feeling a pop in his knee. He returns to the third base side, knee brace in tow.
While Varsho and Bichette are currently on the sidelines, some news came out of triple-A that likely has Blue Jays fans concerned as well.
In his first game back after a lengthy rehab stint, top prospect Ricky Tiedemann lasted just one inning for the Buffalo Bisons before being removed from his start with left forearm tightness. The southpaw allowed three walks and one earned run in the inning of work and saw a noticeable dip in velocity, a tough site to see for a pitcher who could have made an impact on the second half of the season for the Blue Jays.
Down in double-A, left-hander Adam Macko is also dealing with some soreness in his left forearm and hasn’t appeared in a game since July 2nd. Keegan Matheson at MLB.com confirmed that the southpaw is currently rehabbing his injury as well. It is not known the seriousness of his injury and there will likely be more information released over the weekend.
The Jays already have Alek Manoah, Brandon Barriera, and Landen Maroudis out for the season after all underwent Tommy John surgeries, so the club is hopeful another pair of top pitching prospects can avoid the long-term IL this season.
