The Toronto Blue Jays’ farm system has continued to impress.
On Wednesday, the four teams played five games, with all but one of those games being a victory. The Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats played a doubleheader, winning 20-1 and 10-8, while the Dunedin Blue Jays walked off the Clearwater Threshers, and the Vancouver Canadians defeated Spokane 14-6. The only Blue Jays’ affiliate to lose on Wednesday were the Buffalo Bisons, who fell 6-3.
Let’s take a look at the storylines from Wednesday’s slate of games.

Sean Keys and Jace Bohrofen each hit two home runs in doubleheader

Wednesday was the Sean Keys show. In the doubleheader, the Blue Jays’ fourth-rounder in 2024 finished with six hits in nine at-bats. Four of those hits were of the extra-base variety, as Keys hit two doubles and a home run in the 20-1 victory, then hit his fourth home run of the season in the 10-8 victory.
In the early goings of the season, the corner infielder is slashing .361/.447/.778 with four home runs in 44 plate appearances, with an 11.4 BB% and 27.3 K%. Even with the high right field wall at Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver, Keys led the entire Blue Jays’ organization with 18 home runs. With the short right field wall at Dental Delta Stadium, the Fisher Cats’ home park, Keys is going to have a great season.
With 30 runs scored in the two games, Keys wasn’t the only Blue Jays’ hitter to impress. In the 20-1 win, Eddie Micheletti Jr. hit two doubles, while Jorge Burgos and Ismael Munguia each hit a double of their own. The standout from that game was Jace Bohrofen, who hit his third and fourth home runs in this game.
The Fisher Cats finished with 17 hits in this game, with Munguia, Aaron Parker, Burgos, Bohrofen, and Jackson Hornung all finishing with two hits. Micheletti Jr. and Keys had three hits each.
Thanks to scoring 20 runs, the Fisher Cats didn’t need terrific pitching, but they got it anyway from Jackson Wentworth. He went five innings, giving up four hits, an earned run, and three strikeouts. Austin Marozas got the final six outs, three of which were strikeouts.
The second game of the doubleheader was far closer, with the Fisher Cats winning 10-8. Keys had another three-hit game, driving in four thanks to a home run and two singles. Hornung also had an impressive game, hitting two doubles for two RBIs, while Munguia was 2-2 and Jay Harry was 2-3. Harry and Micheletti Jr. each hit a double in this game.
Javen Coleman had the best pitching performance, going one and one-third innings with two strikeouts and a walk. Nate Garkow pitched a scoreless two-thirds of an inning, giving up a hit and a walk, but finishing with his first save of the season.

Carter Cunningham continues to swing the bat well

The Blue Jays have another four home run hitter in the organization, as Carter Cunningham hit a grand slam in the Vancouver Canadians’ victory over Spokane. Cunningham also hit a double in this game and is now slashing .350/.481/.750 with four home runs in 52 plate appearances with 18 RBIs.
For the second consecutive game, Kendry Chirinos went deep, also hitting a grand slam. However, the corner infielder struck out three times. Alex Hernandez had a two-hit game, hitting two triple, while Maddox Latta, Dub Gleed, and Hayden Gilliland had two hit performances as well.
Landen Maroudis started the game, going three and one-third innings with two earned runs, two walks, and two strikeouts. Carson Pierce was awarded the win, striking out three in two and one-third innings. Jay Schueler’s ERA remains at zero, striking out two in two innings of work.

Trey Yesavage makes rehab start

There were two main storylines in the Buffalo Bisons’ 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Rochester Red Wings. Starting the game was big leaguer Trey Yesavage, who went four and one-third innings with three earned runs, a walk, and five strikeouts while giving up two home runs in the rehab outing. Brendon Little has maintained his perfect ERA, striking out a batter and allowing a hit. Chase Lee walked a batter in a scoreless inning, as his ERA sits at 1.86.
The other notable storyline is that RJ Schreck has seemingly started to get going. For the second consecutive game, he hit a home run, his second of the season. Of the eight hits the Bisons had, he had two of them, as did Yohendrick Piñango, both singles. Alex Stone had the other extra-base hit, a double.

JoJo Parker walks off the Clearwater Threshers

Lastly, the Dunedin Blue Jays defeated the Clearwater Threshers by a score of 5-4 in extra innings. Down late, 2025 draftee Eric Snow hit a huge double to bring the D-Jays to within one. Peyton Williams hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to tie it, then JoJo Parker drew a bases loaded walk to walk it off.
Parker’s performance was the most notable of the bunch, going 0-2 with three walks and no strikeouts. Blaine Bullard hit his first career double, while Snow’s double was his third of the season. Jaxson Werst had a two-hit performance and Yorman Licourt hit just his second single of the season.
Of the four affiliates in action, the D-Jays are the most exciting team. On Thursday afternoon, the team announced that Juan Sanchez has been promoted to Single-A, just another reason to watch. Also starting on Thursday is big leaguer José Berríos.
