The Blue Jays played game two of a back-to-back with the Phillies in Clearwater today, tieing the Phillies. They’ll end off Spring Training 3-2-1 against Philadelphia.

Things worth mentioning…

  • Marcus Stroman made his Spring Training debut after missing time with shoulder inflamation. The StroShow went 2 2/3 allowing only 1 ER and 5 H. He also struck out 1 during his outing. Despite it being a small sample size, Stroman looked good.
  • Seung Hwan Oh got his work visa and went to work on the mound today during his 1 inning of work (See what I did there?) he pitched a clean inning with 1 K in his Jays debut.
  • Randall Grichuk is back! Out since March 9, he made his debut batting cleanup today. Despite all the hype, he failed to register a hit in his 4 at-bats. He did, however, reach base on an error in the 8th inning.
  • Since we’re on the topic of returns, Danny Espinosa returned to the field today, making his first start as a Blue Jay, registering 1 run in 2 at-bats. That run came on a Devon Travis double in the 4th inning.
  • The story of the game was the comeback put on by the Blue Jays, being down 7-2 in the bottom of the 8th inning and rallying to make it a 7-7 game. The tying run came off of a triple from Roemon Fields to score Ivan Castillo.
Next game for the Jays is tomorrow at 1:07 against Tampa in Dunedin.
