As this series continues, a familiar name enters into the mix, one that Canadians may know because of his brother’s prominence in the big leagues.

The name “Naylor” is highly recognized in this age of baseball, both around the league and within the Canadian environment. Myles Naylor is the younger sibling among his brothers, Bo Naylor and Josh Naylor.
The family is very established in the game; each sibling was a first-round draft pick for their respective clubs. Both of his brothers are factors on their respective clubs; meanwhile, the younger Naylor continues to work in the minor leagues as he forges his path to join his older brothers.
The infielder has three seasons of professional baseball under his belt so far in the minor leagues. He advanced from the rookie league to low-A ball in 2023. In 2024 and 2025, Naylor still spent his time in single-A Stockton.
2025 Season
Naylor played in 35 fewer games in 2025 than he did in 2024. He recorded 345 plate appearances and 287 at-bats, where he amassed 53 hits, 51 runs, seven home runs, 37 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases.
Defensively, Naylor worked mostly at third base, with 52 games played. Offensively, the Canadian prospect was still trying to find his groove. His offensive abilities did show face at times, with timely production.
April 20th’s grand slam was an example of this, giving his team a multi-run lead. Overall, his offense is still in the development stage and needs to synchronize with the pace of the professional game.
Naylor’s batting average was not satisfying in 2025, averaging .185 with a .319 on-base percentage and .307 slugging percentage. The infielder swings and misses a lot and is shut down by the strikeout. This past season, he struck out 137 times, walking only 55 times.
Looking ahead to 2026
There’s a lot that Naylor could benefit from at the plate this year. Plate discipline is one thing, and pitch recognition is another. The right-hander has shown his power and his ability to swing the bat with intention.
What he’ll need to focus on is compacting his swing in 0-2 counts and forcing contact. Naylor has a strong ability to put the ball in play when the time is needed. He needs to be more consistent than just a .185 average with fewer strikeouts and a better approach. He will need to improve his two-strike approach as well as laying off chase pitches. Naylor needs a higher contact rate, especially with two strikes. His swing needs to shorten up with more usage of the entire field, not just the pull side.
The infielder needs to refine his defensive skills, especially at third base, his respective position. He committed 14 errors at third base in 2025. That’s a total of 17 errors in 2025 between three infield positions.
He’s likely to start again in single-A Stockton. Double-A would be his next promotion, and he would be expected to earn that jump this season.
