The Toronto Blue Jays affiliates had a good day on Tuesday.
Thanks to a postponement in Florida, only three teams in the minor league system were in action. All three teams picked up wins on Tuesday, including the Vancouver Canadians, who scored key runs late in their game.
Let’s dig into all of that in the latest Minor League Report!

Buffalo blew out Lehigh Valley

The Buffalo Bisons emphatically won on Tuesday, defeating the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 12-0 in the series opener. Their second-half record sits at 23-35, but they’re on a two-game winning streak, so that’s nice!
All nine starters for the Bisons had at least a hit, but Damiano Palmegiani was easily the Bisons’ best player this game, as he hit his 16th and 17th home run of the season for the Bisons in this game. He’s now moved into a tie with Will Robertson for the most home runs in the farm system with 19.
Moreover, Alan Roden had a solid game, as he hit his seventh-home run in Triple-A and his 14th of the season to continue to pile on to his career-high. Like Palmegiani, he had a two-hit performance thanks to a single. The other players with a multi-hit game were Josh Kasevich and Nick Raposo, with the latter hitting his sixth double in Triple-A. Other players with a hit were Steward Berroa, Jonatan Clase, Will Robertson, Rafael Lantigua, and Riley Tirotta.
Pitching was solid as well, as Jake Bloss got back on track, finishing with a line of 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 5 K to bring his International League ERA to 4.70. Paxton Schultz pitched two clean innings with two strikeouts, while Eric Pardinho pitched an inning with a strikeout, giving him six straight games without giving up a run. Both Hagen Danner and Braydon Fisher pitched an inning with two strikeouts.

New Hampshire snapped their eight-game losing streak

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats have had a really rough season, but they picked up a win on Tuesday, as they defeated the Portland Sea Dogs to snap an eight-game losing streak. Their second-half record sits at 19-37.
Overall, the team had seven hits in the evening, with Robert Brooks hitting the team’s only extra-base hit, his second double in Double-A. Josh Rivera and Dasan Brown had two-hit performances, while Ryan McCarty and Rainer Nuñez reached with a single.
Like the Bisons, pitching was solid for the Fisher Cats. Lazaro Estrada started the game and pitched another quality start, finishing with a line of 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K to bring his Double-A ERA to 3.88. Hunter Gregory struck out four in two clean innings, while Ryan Jennings struck out a batter to pick up his second save in Double-A.

Vancouver scored four key runs in the bottom of the eighth

Of the five teams (including the big league Blue Jays), the only team in the organization playing meaningful games are the Vancouver Canadians. On Tuesday, they picked up a crucial 8-5 win over the Eugene Emeralds thanks to four runs in the bottom of the eighth to overcome a 5-4 lead.
Equally important was the Tri-City Dust Devils victory over the Hillsboro Hops. The magic number for the Canadians now sits at two games. Two wins for the Canadians, two losses for the Hops, or a Canadians win and Hops loss will book their ticket to their third consecutive Northwest League Championship Series.
It took 12 pitches, but Je’Von Ward hit a clutch home run to give the Canadians an early 3-1 lead in the bottom of the first. Moreover, pint-sized Adrian Pinto hit his third home run of the season for the Canadians. He’s been an extra-base machine since being activated off the 60-day Injured List.
On top of the two home runs, the Canadians also hit four doubles. Brennan Orf hit his 11th double of the season, Peyton Williams hit his 18th double of the season, Jackson Hornung hit his 24th double of the season, and Ward hit his 11th double of the season. Pinto, Williams, and Ward had multi-hit games, while Hornung had a three-hit day. Jacob Sharp also hit a single.
Starter Ryan Watson had a rough start, finishing with a line of 5.1 IP, 11 H, 5 ER, 0 BB, 6 K to bring his High-A ERA to 3.72. Alex Amalfi struck out four in two and two-thirds innings, while Bo Bonds picked up his first High-A save with a clean inning.
