The Toronto Blue Jays’ parade of draft college pitchers has continued.
With the 522nd overall pick, the Blue Jays selected right-handed pitcher Landon Waters. The right-handed pitcher happens to be the sixth consecutive pitcher the Blue Jays have drafted on Sunday.
Standing at 6’1”, 210 lbs, Waters is a college senior who pitched for the University of Mississippi in 2026. Working solely in relief, Waters appeared in 24 games with the Rebels, registering two saves over 24 innings of work. Moreover, he finished with a 24 K% and 11.5 BB% in those 24 games played.
It was Waters’ second season at the school, having posted a 6.27 ERA in 18.2 innings of work with Ole Miss in 2025. The 22-year-old’s strikeout rate declined this past season, as he finished with a 30.7 K% and 12.8 BB% in 2025.
Before joining Ole Miss, Waters spent two seasons with Meridian Community College Eagles, appearing in 29 games with a 2.90 ERA in 115 innings of work. Waters had a much better 30.2 K% when pitching for the community college. Waters sits in the lower 90s with his fastball, also featuring a sweeper.
Expect Waters to move quickly up the minor league ladder given his status as a college senior.
