With the 604th overall pick, the last Blue Jays pick, they selected their first LHP of the day, and only the second overall, Kai Peterson. Last season, he pitched for Sierra College, a junior college.
The 20-year-old pitched 84 innings with Sierra College, striking out 127 batters, but also walking 62 batters. He finished with a 3.86 ERA and a 13.61 K/9 with 9 wins and a save.
He has a three-pitch mix, a fastball that sits lower 90s, a curveball, and a changeup.
