The Toronto Blue Jays’ disappointing form in 2026 has made it quite likely that they will be sellers at the upcoming trade deadline. It wasn’t long ago that the Blue Jays were sellers in 2024. Some of the moves the team made in 2024 have already started to pay dividends, while others could still prove valuable in the future.

Let’s take a look at where the Blue Jays’ 2024 trade pieces have ended up.

The Blue Jays traded Danny Jansen to the Boston Red Sox for pitcher Gilberto Batista and infielders Cutter Coffey and Eddinson Paulino. Jansen was the longest-serving Blue Jay before he was traded but had struggled with injuries throughout his career and was headed to free agency.

Jansen signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Rays for the 2025 season, but was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers ahead of the deadline. He was not a part of the Brewers’ postseason roster in their run to the NLCS.

Jansen signed a two-year $14.5-million deal with the Texas Rangers for the 2026 season. He’s slashing .171/.277/.309 with three home runs and 12 RBIs for the Rangers. Jansen has been on the IL since June 3 with a right forearm strain.

Coffey is the 22nd-ranked prospect in the Blue Jays’ system. He’s currently playing with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in Double-A. Batista is with the Single-A Vancouver Canadians, while Paulino is now with the New York Mets’ Single-A affiliate, the St. Lucie Mets.

The Blue Jays traded Yusei Kikuchi to the Houston Astros for starting pitcher Jake Bloss, left-fielder Joey Loperfido, and infielder Will Wagner. After the 2024 season, Kikuchi signed a three-year $63-million deal with the Los Angeles Angels.

Kikuchi had a 7-11 record in 2025. He posted a 3.99 ERA in 33 starts. He’s only made seven starts in 2026, during which he posted a 5.81 ERA with an 0-3 record.

Kikuchi has been on the IL since April 30 with left shoulder inflammation. Kikuchi is scheduled to make a rehab start with the Angels’ Single-A affiliate Rancho Cucamonga tonight.

The Kikuchi trade has been consequential for the Blue Jays. Wagner was traded to the San Diego Padres at the 2025 deadline for Brandon Valenzuela. Valenzuela made his MLB debut with the Blue Jays in April when Alejandro Kirk fractured his thumb. He played well enough that the Blue Jays opted to DFA Tyler Heineman and keep Valenzuela when Kirk returned.

The Blue Jays traded Loperfido back to the Houston Astros for outfielder Jesús Sánchez before the start of the 2026 season. Sánchez is slashing .274/.316/.437 with seven home runs and 29 RBIs for the Blue Jays. He has not played since June 26 due to a right ankle sprain. He is in Buffalo on a rehab assignment.

Bloss is the 11th-ranked prospect in the Blue Jays’ system. He only pitched in six games during 2025 before undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery. Bloss has pitched in 11 games across every level of the Minor Leagues. He made five starts with the Buffalo Bisons, during which he posted an 8.69 ERA. However, Bloss has faced another setback in his recovery. On July 18, he was added back to the IL with a teres major injury.

The Blue Jays traded Justin Turner to the Seattle Mariners for outfielder RJ Schreck. Turner played in 48 games with the Mariners, during which he slashed .264/.363/.403 with five home runs.

Turner signed a one-year $6-million deal with the Chicago Cubs for 2025. He slashed .219/.288/.314 with three home runs in 80 games for the Cubs.

He signed with the Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican League for the 2026 season. He’s batting .292/.394/.472 with six home runs and 28 RBIs.

Schreck is the ninth-ranked prospect for the Blue Jays. He’s batting .230/.380/.404 with seven home runs and 36 RBIs in 56 games with the Bisons in 2026.

The Blue Jays traded Yimi García to the Mariners for outfielder Jonatan Clase and catcher Jacob Sharp. García pitched nine innings for the Mariners before right elbow inflammation ended his season.

García signed a two-year $15-million contract to return to the Blue Jays after the 2024 season. He pitched in 21 games for the Blue Jays in 2025, posting a 3.86 ERA. García last pitched for the Blue Jays on July 2, 2025. At the end of August, it was announced he would undergo season-ending elbow surgery.

Rehab stints interrupted by injury setbacks have defined García’s 2026. He has made nine rehab appearances, posting a 9.39 ERA. His most recent rehab assignment was on July 25 with the FCL Dunedin Blue Jays. He pitched a three-up, three-down inning with one strikeout against the Bradenton Marauders.

However, he has faced another setback. García will visit with a doctor to check for thoracic outlet syndrome.

Clase was recalled from the Bisons on July 1. Clase appeared in nine games with the Blue Jays in 2026, slashing .273/.360/.545 with two home runs. He was added to the IL on July 21 with left plantar fasciitis.

Sharp has spent most of the season with the Single-A Canadians, slashing .265/.349/.464 with six home runs and 37 RBIs. He was called up to the Double-A Fisher Cats on July 21 and in four games is batting .273.

The Blue Jays traded Trevor Richards to the Minnesota Twins for shortstop Jay Harry. Since being traded by the Blue Jays, Richards has been a part of six different organizations.

He was DFA’d by the Twins in August of 2024. He signed a Minor League contract with the Chicago Cubs in January 2025. He was released by the Cubs in May before signing a Minor League contract with the Kansas City Royals. He then signed a Minor League contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks after being DFA’d by the Royals in June. He was DFA’d by the Diamondbacks in July and signed a Minor League contract with the Philadelphia Phillies in December. Richards made two appearances with the Phillies before he was traded to the Chicago White Sox for cash considerations in May.

Richards has pitched in 31 games with the White Sox, posting a 3.55 ERA, and has struck out 48 batters across his 45.2 innings pitched. Richards pitched 1 2/3 innings against the Blue Jays on July 17. Richards gave up two runs on four hits, but the White Sox beat the Blue Jays 12-4.

Harry is the 19th-ranked prospect in the Blue Jays system. He was called up to the Bisons on June 12. He slashed .303/.368/.529 with five home runs and 28 RBIs in 29 games with the Bisons. Harry was added to the seven-day IL on Tuesday.

The Blue Jays traded Kevin Kiermaier to the Los Angeles Dodgers for lefty reliever Ryan Yarbrough. Kiermaier made four appearances during the 2024 NLCS but was left off the Dodgers’ World Series roster. He retired after the 2024 season and rejoined the Blue Jays as a special assistant for the 2025 season.

Kiermaier joined MLB as an analyst in March 2026. He also works as a consultant with the Tampa Bay Rays’ outfielders.

Yarbrough signed a Minor League contract with the Blue Jays in February 2025 but opted out of the contract after he was cut from the Major League roster.

Yarbrough signed a one-year, $2-million contract with the New York Yankees for the 2025 season. He made 19 appearances with the Yankees in 2025, posting a 4.36 ERA. He re-signed with the Yankees on a one-year $2.5-million contract for the 2026 season. He has made 27 appearances for the Yankees in 2026, and is 2-1 with a 4.64 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 43 innings.

The Blue Jays traded Isiah Kiner-Falefa to the Pittsburgh Pirates for infielder Charles McAdoo. Kiner-Falefa returned to the Blue Jays after being claimed off waivers from the Pirates on August 31, 2025. He was a part of the Blue Jays postseason roster. Kiner-Falefa’s time with the Blue Jays will probably be remembered most for being called out at home on a force play in the ninth inning of Game 7 of the 2025 World Series.

Kiner-Falefa signed a one-year, $6-million deal with the Boston Red Sox for the 2026 season. He’s slashing .277/.344/.361 with two home runs in 47 games. One of those home runs came off Trey Yesavage on June 18. The Blue Jays won that game 4-3. That was the last game Kiner-Falefa played. He was added to the IL the following day with left forearm inflammation.

McAdoo is the 12th-ranked prospect in the Blue Jays organization. He was called up to the Blue Jays on May 28 and hit a two-run home run against the Baltimore Orioles in his MLB debut. In eight games with the Blue Jays, McAdoo slashed .160/.160/.280 with three RBIs. McAdoo was sent down to Triple-A on June 20.

The Blue Jays traded Nate Pearson to the Chicago Cubs for outfielder Yohendrick Piñango and shortstop Josh Rivera. Pearson was DFA’d by the Cubs in September 2025. He signed a one-year, $1.35 million deal with the Houston Astros for 2026. He posted a 3.60 ERA in 16 appearances with the Astros before he was DFA’d on July 19.

On July 22, Pearson was traded to the Royals for Max Martin. He has made one appearance with the Royals, in which he pitched a scoreless inning and picked up the win.

Piñango has been called up to the Blue Jays four times in 2026. During those four stints, he’s slashed .256/.303/.396 with five home runs and 20 RBIs in 57 games.

Rivera has spent 2026 with the Triple-A Bisons. He’s slashing .214/.285/.380 with 10 home runs and 36 RBIs in 90 games.
