Yeah, I've seen enough. Landen Maroudis is a dude. 79.9 mph curveball with 54 inches of vertical drop.

In 2024, there are plenty of Toronto Blue Jays’ pitching prospects that have undergone Tommy John surgery.
This is Blue Jays Nation’s annual Mid-Season top prospect list, where we’ll look at the 35 best prospects in the Blue Jays system. We’ll look at the player’s stats, my observations, and other publication’s scouting reports if available.
Let’s take a look at our 15-best prospect, Landen Maroudis!
Getting to know Landen Maroudis…
Position: Starting pitcher
Throws: Right
Born: December 16, 2004
Acquired: 4th-round, 2023 draft (Blue Jays)
Previous ranking: 12
The Blue Jays selected right-handed pitcher Landen Maroudis out of Calvary Christian High School in the fourth-round of the 2023 draft. Like most high-round picks from the Jays, Maroudis didn’t make his professional debut until the following season.
And what a professional debut it was, as he posted a 0.84 ERA and a 2.43 FIP in 10.2 innings pitched with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, along with a 31.6 K% and a 10.5 BB%. Unfortunately, Maroudis underwent Tommy John surgery at the end of May. Thankfully, it’s the surgery with the internal brace, which tends to have a shorter recovery (albeit still long).
Maroudis ranked as MLB Pipeline’s 15th-best Blue Jays prospect during the mid-season update. The 6’3”, 190 lbs right-handed pitcher sat 93-95 mph prior to the injury with a max velocity a tick higher. He also features a changeup and two breaking balls, the slider and the curveball. His curveball has great dive action while his slider sits in the mid-80s. Hopefully, miss too much action in 2025.
